2.Promotion period
Entries open: 9:00 AM AWST on Monday 5 May 2026.
Entries close: 3:00 PM AWST on Sunday 7 June 2026.
Draw: 4:00 PM AWST on Sunday 7 June 2026, at the IBA booth, Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre, during the Perth Home Show.
Entries received outside the promotion period will not be valid.
3.The prize
One (1) prize is offered: a Custom Design Package delivered by IBA, valued at AUD $7,500 inclusive of GST. The prize is reserved for projects with an estimated build cost under AUD $1.5 million (see clause 4.1).
3.1 What's included
- Initial design strategy session (up to 90 minutes)
- Site analysis and brief development
- Concept design (up to two schemes presented)
- Design development of the chosen scheme
- Up to two rounds of design revisions
- Final design package: floor plans, elevations, 3D visualisation
- Builder briefing pack (specifications and scope of works summary)
- Final design presentation meeting
3.2 What's NOT included
The prize does not include and the winner is responsible for arranging and paying for (where required):
- Development Application (DA) preparation, lodgement, and council fees
- Structural engineering, hydraulic engineering, or other specialist consultant fees
- Building certifier fees and Building Licence application costs
- Energy efficiency (NatHERS), BAL or bushfire reports
- Land surveys (contour, identification, feature)
- Soil testing, geotechnical reports, or contamination assessment
- Construction documentation beyond the design package
- Interior design, furniture, fittings, or landscape design
- Heritage assessment or approvals
- Builder selection, contract negotiation, or build-phase advisory services
- Travel for sites outside the Perth metropolitan area
3.3 Prize is non-transferable and non-redeemable
- The prize cannot be transferred to another person.
- The prize cannot be exchanged for cash or any alternative.
- Unused portions of the prize have no cash value.
4.Eligibility
To enter, you must:
Be aged 18 years or over at the time of entry.
Be a resident of the Perth metropolitan area. .
Be the owner, co-owner, or contracted purchaser of the property at which the design package would be applied.
Genuinely intend to commence a build, renovation, or extension project within twelve (12) months of entry.
Not currently be engaged with another building consultant or design firm under retainer for the same project.
Not be an employee, contractor, immediate family member, or household member of IBA or any of its associated entities.
Provide accurate and complete information on the entry form. Entries with materially false information will be disqualified.
4.1 Project value cap
To be eligible to win the prize, your project must have an estimated build cost under AUD $1.5 million.
"Estimated build cost" means the construction cost of the home — calculated as approximate floor area (in square metres) multiplied by the estimated build cost per square metre. It does NOT include:
- Land purchase or value
- Stamp duty, conveyancing, or transaction costs
- External consultant fees (engineering, certification, surveys)
- Demolition, site preparation, or external works
- Interior design, furniture, or landscape costs
If your project's estimated build cost is $1.5m or more, you are still welcome to enter the giveaway and join IBA's mailing list. You simply will not be eligible to win the prize. IBA may contact you about other ways we can support your project.
5.How to enter
5.1 Online entry
- Visit independentbuildingadvice.com.au/win-design-giveaway
- Complete the entry form in full, including all qualifying questions
- Confirm eligibility and accept these Terms and Conditions
- Submit. You will receive a confirmation email.
Each eligible person may submit one (1) online entry. Duplicate online entries from the same person will be removed.
5.2 Bonus entry — Perth Home Show
Eligible entrants may receive one (1) additional bonus entry by:
- Visiting the IBA booth at the Perth Home Show between 5 and 7 June 2026
- Having a brief qualifying conversation with an IBA team member
- Scanning the bonus QR code on display at the booth and completing the verification step
The bonus entry is granted only after an IBA team member confirms the in-person conversation. Each eligible person may receive a maximum of one (1) bonus entry across the three days of the show.
There is no purchase, fee, or product requirement to receive the bonus entry — only attendance at the booth and a qualifying conversation.
6.The draw
The winner will be drawn at 4:00 PM AWST on Sunday 7 June 2026 at the IBA booth, Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre.
The draw will be conducted at random from all valid entries (online and bonus combined) using a random selection process.
The draw will be witnessed by at least two (2) IBA team members and one (1) independent third party.
The draw will be recorded on video and may be published on IBA's social media channels and website.
The winner does not need to be present at the draw to win.
7.Winner notification
The winner will be notified by phone within one (1) hour of the draw, using the contact details provided on the entry form.
If the winner cannot be reached or does not respond within seven (7) days of the draw, IBA reserves the right to redraw.
The winner's first name and suburb may be published on IBA's website, social media channels, and email communications. The winner's full name will not be published without their explicit consent.
The winner may be invited to participate in a written, photographed, or filmed case study about their design project. Participation is voluntary and not a condition of receiving the prize.
8.Privacy and use of personal information
By entering, you consent to IBA collecting, storing, and using your personal information in accordance with IBA's Privacy Policy at https://independentbuildingadvice.com.au/privacy-policy.
Your information will be used to administer the giveaway, contact you about your entry, and (with your consent) send you marketing communications about IBA's services and future promotions.
You may withdraw consent for marketing communications at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email or by contacting IBA directly.
Your information will not be sold to third parties. It may be processed by IBA's CRM and email service providers (including GoHighLevel) under data processing agreements that comply with the Australian Privacy Principles.
You have the right to request access to or correction of your personal information held by IBA.
9.Use of the prize
The winner must accept the prize within seven (7) days of notification.
The initial design strategy session must be booked within thirty (30) days of acceptance.
Design work must commence within sixty (60) days of acceptance.
The design package must be completed within one hundred and twenty (120) days of commencement, subject to the winner's availability for meetings and revisions.
If the winner fails to engage within these timeframes without reasonable cause, IBA reserves the right to forfeit the prize and conduct a redraw.
10.General conditions
Entry into the giveaway constitutes acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
IBA reserves the right to verify the validity of any entry and to disqualify entries that are incomplete, fraudulent, or do not meet the eligibility criteria.
IBA reserves the right to amend, suspend, or cancel the giveaway at any time, where reasonably necessary, with notice published on IBA's website.
IBA's decision is final on all matters relating to the giveaway. No correspondence will be entered into.
11.Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, IBA, its directors, employees, and contractors are not liable for any loss or damage suffered by an entrant or winner in connection with the giveaway or the prize, except for liability that cannot be excluded by law.
IBA's standard professional indemnity and design service terms apply to the delivery of the prize. The winner will be required to sign IBA's standard design services agreement before design work commences.
Nothing in these Terms and Conditions limits any rights an entrant or winner has under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded.
12.Governing law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the State of Western Australia. Any dispute will be resolved in the courts of Western Australia.
